Nanaimo Daily Herald 1937: Vancouver Island Better Than California

The following article appeared in the Nanaimo Daily Herald on August 1st, 1937. The Historical Society’s copy does not include the name of the reporter. The property of Mr. Alexander Hamilton referred to was located between the Island highway, (now Lantzville Rd) and the shore midway on the hill between Knarston Creek and Superior Rd. We are unsure exactly which property it was and therefore who the current owner(s) might be. If you know, please let us know. Mr Hamilton was known to the Bennet and Walls families who developed the summer cottage properties in the Benwaldun neighborhood as his property was nearby.
