Local Sculptor Aaron Grant to Captain Team BC in
Prestigious International Snow Sculpture Competition at Quebec Winter Carnival
Aaron Grant, teacher at Aspengrove School in Nanaimo, is Captain of Team BC, has been invited to compete in the prestigious International Snow Sculpture Competition at this year’s Quebec Winter Carnival. Grant and his team earned the invitation by winning least year’s BC Championship in Vernon at Silver Star Resort. He departs Thursday January 28th for the intense competition – each team member will be sculpting for 35 hours in the 48 competition period.
Grant, who has been sculpting since 1999 and has had work displayed at Government House in the past, has represented BC before – the photo below is from the 2009 competition.
